ok so i am too noob to get this picture in here without it messing up, so you will have to trust me and check it out lol. this happened the other night. Agathiel-ro is the leader of that guild too...( for a bit of background he was asking or portal location and then someone made a joke, i cant remember it, but it was funny and not offensive at all )

Looking at the screenshot, I would have to say both of you were breaking one of the rules: don't have long arguments in /a. Agathiel-ro's initial comment was inappropriate and I definitely don't agree with that way of thinking, but directly countering her like that was just asking to start an argument. I think it would have been better if you just said something like "I think it's nice to have the opportunity to help newer players" and continued to help them instead.
